Adventures In Chinese Dining...

After a busy day of last minute Christmas shopping, our family decided to stop and get Chinese food at the Stir Fry 88 in the food court at the mall. So I ordered two one item combos, plus an egg roll, and two three item combos, plus an egg roll. Well, we get our food and drinks, straws, forks etc and head for the table. Upon closer inspection we realize, we didn't get the sweet and sour chicken on one of the three item combos. So I nicely went back to the counter and explained the situation to the lady, and asked if I could get the sweet and sour chicken. She got extremely agitated and started waving her arms above her head and saying "I no charge you egg roll!" So I explained again, that I wanted the three items PLUS the egg roll and I didn't mind paying for it. She then said " you come with me I show you" she FOLLOWED me to MY TABLE! She began counting our "items" and counting the egg roll as the third item still squealing "I no charga you egg roll! See? See?!" She grabbed my receipt and continued with " I no chargea you egg roll!" Oh my word, I cannot believe this and she is not quiet about it either! She is waving and gesturing and repeating: " I no chargea you egg roll!!" Ok,ok I get it already. Why couldnt she just say:Sorry we misunderstood, here is your sweet and sour chicken, and that will $ 1.49 for the egg roll? Finally, I snatch my receipt back (still trying to be Christian here, although its feeling really inconvenient at the moment!) and say, rather stiffly," Never Mind." Customer service is dead at this place.ugh. So now we have an unspoken agreement. She No Chargea Me Egg Roll, and I No Eata Here Anymore! What an adventure in how NOT to run a business...
